Air Serbia to launch six new destinations for 2027, including Miami
20 October 2026
Air Serbia has today put tickets on sale for six new destinations that will be introduced during 2027. In the upcoming summer season, passengers will be able to fly directly from Belgrade to Yerevan, Helsinki, Miami, Cluj-Napoca, Chișinău and Menorca.
“We are continuously improving our network of destinations to offer passengers greater choice and even better connectivity. The launch of new routes is part of our strategy for sustainable growth, developing transfer traffic and further positioning Belgrade as one of the leading air travel hubs in this part of Europe. We are particularly pleased to be introducing flights to Miami, Air Serbia’s third destination in the United States, which we expect to attract considerable interest from passengers in Serbia as well as those from the region travelling to North America via Belgrade. In addition to launching six new destinations, in 2027 we also plan to increase traffic frequency. Further network growth will be accompanied by fleet expansion, providing additional capacity to support the continued development of the company and improve connectivity for passengers across our network. The launch of new routes is part of Air Serbia’s broader network development ahead of EXPO 2027, which is expected to generate further growth in international traffic and increased demand for flights to Belgrade,” said Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.
Among the new services will be the one connecting Belgrade and Yerevan, with the inaugural flight scheduled for 28 March 2027. Air Serbia will initially operate three flights a week on this route, increasing the frequency to four weekly flights from mid-June. The launch of Yerevan services marks a natural continuation of the company’s expansion in the Caucasus region, following the successful introduction of flights to Tbilisi and Baku.
From 1 April 2027, Air Serbia will also resume direct flights between Belgrade and Helsinki. Serbia’s national airline previously operated flights to the Finnish capital in 2019, but services were subsequently suspended due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The return of Helsinki to the network represents an important step in the further development of services to Scandinavian markets, with flights operating three times a week.
One of the most significant projects in Air Serbia’s further network development is the introduction of direct flights to Miami. Scheduled to launch on 20 May 2027, the route will operate twice a week. As the company’s third destination in the United States, alongside New York and Chicago, Miami represents a major milestone in the development of Air Serbia’s intercontinental network. It will further strengthen connectivity between the region and North America, while also improving connections and travel opportunities to Latin America and the Caribbean.
The expansion of the regional network will continue with the introduction of direct flights to Cluj-Napoca. Air Serbia’s second destination in Romania, after Bucharest, will be connected to Belgrade from 31 May 2027, with four weekly flights. The route is expected to attract a significant number of transfer passengers and further strengthen Belgrade’s role as a regional aviation hub. Direct flights to the largest city in Transylvania, an economic, university and cultural centre of the region, will also make it easier and quicker for passengers from Serbia to discover its rich historical heritage, distinctive culture and natural beauty.
From 3 June 2027, Air Serbia will also launch direct flights to Chișinău, the capital of Moldova, operating four times a week. In addition to strengthening economic ties between the two countries, direct flights between the capitals will provide easier access to new tourism and business opportunities, while further improving Moldova’s connectivity with the many destinations across Air Serbia’s network.
At the height of the summer holiday season, from 16 June 2027, Menorca, one of the most sought-after summer destinations in the Balearic Islands, will also join Serbia’s national airline’s network. Air Serbia will operate flights to the Spanish destination twice a week, offering passengers from Serbia and the wider region another attractive option for Mediterranean holidays. Menorca will also become Air Serbia’s ninth destination in Spain.
Further network development will be accompanied by fleet expansion. During 2027, two Airbus A319 aircraft will be replaced by higher-capacity Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats, while the fleet serving short- and medium-haul routes will be further strengthened with the addition of an Embraer E195 aircraft with 118 seats.
Strong demand for travel was also confirmed during Air Serbia’s recently concluded promotional campaign, during which more than 234,000 seats on flights operated by Serbia’s national airline were sold in just seven days.
