Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, today launched a four-times-per-week service to Hamburg, expanding its German route network to 11 cities.
The historic service, operating as flight JU390, touched down at Hamburg Airport at 9.20 am, where it was welcomed by a ceremonial water cannon salute and a party of airport representatives.
An Air Serbia delegation, headed by Djordje Vukotić, Head of Global Sales of Air Serbia, travelled on the maiden flight from Belgrade, which took just two hours and ten minutes.

The new flight is operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, using a Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft.
Situated on the River Elbe, Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and the second largest port in Europe, with a population of 1.8 million people. A hotspot of maritime culture, its harbour is the heart of the city and draws millions of tourists a year, especially during the summer.
Dane Kondic, CEO of Air Serbia, said: “We are excited to commence air services to Hamburg, whose famous old port districts and canals are now within easy reach for our leisure travellers.
“Our four weekly Hamburg flights will give passengers multiple flight options each week and are designed to meet the significant summer travel demand to this great city, which is the eleventh German destination in our flight network.
“Germany is an important market for Air Serbia and we look forward to working with our travel trade partners and fellow member airlines of Etihad Airways Partners, especially airberlin, to enhance our presence and travel offering.”
In addition to its new Hamburg flights, Air Serbia offers travellers non-stop flights to Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, as well as one-stop codeshare flights with airberlin to Cologne, Dresden, Nuremberg, Munich, Saarbrucken, and Hanover.
