28 January 2022

Air Serbia continues with the strong expansion of its network by launching direct scheduled flights from Belgrade to two destinations in Germany - Hanover as of 3 June and Nuremberg as of 6 June, while flights to Salzburg, Austria, are scheduled to commence as of 7 June.

With the announced network expansion, the Serbian national airline will operate flights to as many as eight destinations in Germany - Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Nuremberg and Hanover from Belgrade, as well as to Frankfurt-Hahn and Cologne from Niš, which will make this country the market with the most Air Serbia destinations.

"Historically, the German market has been always of a great importance for our airline. By launching routes to Hanover and Nuremberg, Air Serbia will furthermore strengthen its position in Germany, increase the country coverage and complement already existing services. On the other hand, the introduction of flights to Salzburg confirms our commitment to improve connectivity between Serbia and Austria, which represents a significant market for our country due to the sizeable Serbian diaspora, but also offers great opportunities for city break and skiing holidays,” stated Bojan Aranđelović, Head of Network Planning and Scheduling at Air Serbia.

The Serbian national airline will be operating flights between Belgrade and Hanover three times a week during the summer season, and twice a week during the winter season. By establishing this route, seamless connections will be provided via Belgrade between Hanover and other cities in Air Serbia’s network, such as Athens, Bucharest, Dubrovnik, Istanbul, Larnaca, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Skopje, Thessaloniki, Sofia, Split, Tirana and Tivat. Previously, Air Serbia flew to this German city twice a week, from Niš.

Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, represents a university, economic, cultural and festival centre of this region. Known as the city of fairs and innovations, with an interesting history and beautiful architecture, it is rightfully considered an important centre for business, expos and higher education.

Air Serbia flights to Nuremberg will operate twice a week, year-round. By commencing services on this route, Air Serbia will provide good connectivity between Nuremberg and other cities in its network, such as Amman, Athens, Bucharest, Dubrovnik, Istanbul, Krasnodar, Larnaca, Moscow Podgorica, Sarajevo, Skopje, Thessaloniki, Sofia, Split, Tirana and Tivat. The Serbian national airline previously operated flights between Nuremberg and Niš, twice a week.

As the second-largest city of the German federal state of Bavaria, Nuremberg is the cultural centre of the Franconia region. Located on both sides of the Pegnitz river, it represents a touristic jewel which attracts visitors from the entire world with its numerous museums, farmer’s markets, impressive architecture and top delicacies.

Air Serbia will be operating flights to Salzburg, its second destination in Austria, three times a week during summers and twice weekly during winter.
