Adjustment of operations to the Republic of Italy

09 March 2020

Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, having in mind the development of the situation in Italy regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus, decided to further reorganize its operations to this country in the coming period and to adjust it in line with the new circumstances.

Air Serbia, from today (Monday, 9 March), will temporarily suspend its operations until the end of March on two routes to the Republic of Italy on which it operates from Constantine the Great Airport - between Niš and Bologna and between Niš and Rome. The decision was made with the consent of the relevant authorities, and passengers who have purchased tickets for these two routes will be offered a free ticket change for the same destinations in the later term by the end of the summer season, free ticket change for other destinations to which Air Serbia operates from Niš or from Belgrade, or to be refunded. The Air Serbia Contact Centre will contact all passengers who have purchased tickets between Niš and Bologna and between Niš and Rome for flights during March to help them find the best solutions.

When it comes to destinations to which airline flies from its hub in Belgrade, due to the situation with the Coronavirus, Air Serbia has decided to partially reduce certain frequencies. In this regard, some flights to Venice will be cancelled in the coming period (11, 25, 30 March and 6 and 27 April), then to Milan (12, 16, 17, 19, 24 and 26 March; all flights on Tuesdays during April except 14 April; all flights on Thursdays during April except 9 April), as well as to Tel Aviv (12 and 20 March). Air Serbia will continue to operate regularly without changes between Belgrade and Rome.

Regarding the global outbreak of Coronavirus, Air Serbia is in continual communication with the competent national and international authorities, primarily the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, the Institute for Public Health of Serbia, Dr Milan Jovanović Batut, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Serbia’s flag carrier is taking every precaution in full compliance with all procedures provided for these circumstances, to ensure its passengers will have no reason for concern. As always, the safety of our passengers and our crew is our airline’s priority.
