Air Serbia commences direct flights between Belgrade and Budapest
Today, on 13 March 2023, with the JU150 flight at 07:45, Air Serbia commenced the new scheduled service between Belgrade and Budapest. Serbian national airline will be operating flights to the capital of Hungary up to 17 times a week during the forthcoming summer season.
“With today’s flight to Budapest, we launched the first out of more than 20 destinations we will be operating flights to during the upcoming summer season, which were not a part of our network in 2022. We will monitor demand, and in accordance with it, gradually increase the frequency of flights between the two cities. We believe that the introduction of direct flights will contribute to better connectivity of Serbia and Hungary and make travelling all over Europe much faster for our passengers,” said Boško Rupić, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
A welcome for Air Serbia’s first flight to Budapest was organized at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, located 16km southeast of the capital of Hungary.
Budapest is a city with a long, rich and eventful history, as evidenced by a large number of important buildings from various epochs and in various styles: gothic, byzantine, renaissance, baroque, classical, neoclassical. The Budapest Metro is the second oldest in the world, and the famous Széchenyi Chain Bridge represents the reference point of the city, and the distance from it is used to measure all distances in Hungary. The capital of Hungary is also known for its thermal water sources and numerous hot springs and is one of the favorite weekend destinations of people from neighboring countries.
By introducing a scheduled service between the capitals of Hungary and Serbia, Air Serbia provides its passengers with good connections from Budapest, via Belgrade, to Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, the United States of America, as well as countries in the region.
