Air Serbia and Tarom deepen Codeshare Relationship
20 December 2013
Air Serbia, the national airline of Serbia, today announced the expansion of its codeshare relationship with Romanian carrier TAROM.
The two airlines adopted a bilateral codeshare relationship on 16 December 2013, with Air Serbia marketing its code on TAROM's daily morning service from Bucharest to Belgrade, in addition to TAROM operated services from Bucharest to Sofia (Belgrade). In return, TAROM will market its code on Air Serbia's daily afternoon service from Belgrade to Bucharest.
Air Serbia will continue to placce its code on TAROM's six per week operations.
Dane Kondic, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, said: "I'm pleased that we are broadening our relationship with a long-standing partner such as Tarom. The two airlines have shared a close relationship for many years and we will work hard to promote tourism and trade between Serbia and Romania. I believe that the Belgrade and Bucharest services offered by Tarom and Air Serbia will be very appealing to our corporate and leisure customers. Romania has a lot to offer the Serbian travelling public, from the picturesque Carpathian mountains to the outstanding Black Sea resorts. I also believe that Serbia will emerge as a destination of choice for many Romanians."
Christian Heinzmann, Chief Executive Officer of TAROM, said: "It is encouraging to see positive new developments in TAROM's long standing relationship with Air Serbia. I am convinced that this deeper business engagement is a key element for the more valuable proposition that the two flag carriers will soon present to the travelling public. Both Bucharest and Belgrade are gaining more and more international clout and interest and this newly extended bilateral commercial arrangement is our contribution to the further development of cultural and economic ties between the two neighboring countries. With Air Serbia adding its own daily services on the direct route and TAROM's increased services, the future seems to promise a clear sky for more benefits to the public, the carriers and the countries."
