Air Serbia adjusts route network for winter season
03 July 2015
Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, will adjust its route network for the winter flight schedule, which comes into effect from 25 October 2015.
The airline will increase frequencies on services from Belgrade to Beirut and Tirana. Flights to Beirut will increase from three to four weekly flights, better linking the Lebanese capital with Air Serbia's network. Services to Tirana will go up to five weekly flights - an additional two flights per week compared to the 2014/2015 winter schedule. Additional frequency changes will be announced prior to the commencement of the winter season.
Following a thorough review, Air Serbia' direct flights between Belgrade and Larnaca will be discontinued from 25 October and re-introduced with the 2016 summer schedule as a seasonal service. In the meantime, Air Serbia will continue to offer its guests flights to Larnaca, via Athens, through its codeshare partner Aegean Airlines. In addition, Air Serbia will also suspend its daily service between Belgrade and Budapest.
Dane Kondić, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, said: "Air Serbia continuously evaluates its network to ensure it is in line with passenger demand and is commercially sustainable. These decisions will enable us to place greater focus on key areas of the business that demonstrate the strongest potential for sustained long-term growth. We will continue to adapt our product and service offering to meet and exceed our guests' expectations. We remain committed to all markets in which we currently operate and will continue to maintain a presence through our partner airlines".
Air Serbia will make every effort to accommodate guests travelling on the Larnaca and Budapest routes, on and after 25 October. Guests are advised to contact the Air Serbia contact centre or their travel agents for further assistance.
