Air Serbia already suprassed last year’s passenger numbers
Today at 10 am, more than a month before the end of the year, Air Serbia surpassed the total number of passengers from 2018, having carried 2,512,324 passengers from its home airport in Belgrade. This number does not include passengers who used the services of the Serbian national airline at the new hub, the Niš Konstantin Veliki Airport, launched in July this year.
“The entire Air Serbia team is responsible for this exceptional result. With hard work, dedication, strategic planning and timely recognition of opportunities in the market, we are setting new records. The ending year was marked by growth that has never been stronger and we are planning to continue with this tempo in the future as well,” said Jiří Marek, Air Serbia’s GM Commercial and Strategy.
Air Serbia continued to have the excellent operating results from the summer season in fall as well. In October, 13.37 percent more passengers were carried compared to October last year, making it the best result for that period ever since the company started doing business under the name of Air Serbia. The growth trend also continued in November, when 25 percent more passengers were carried year to year.
This year, the national airline introduced direct flights to as many as ten new destinations from Belgrade, including flights to Istanbul, which will be launched in December. Along with the introduction of twelve new flight routes from Niš in July and August, this year, Air Serbia had its strongest expansion since the founding of the company.
