Entry regulations

While getting ready for your trip, check ahead of time whether you have the necessary documents without which you will be unable to travel.

  • Valid passport with sufficient number of blank pages
  • Visas and other permits required by the country of entry (if any)
  • Health certificates (if any)

Every country has its own rules for visitors of various nationalities. You can see regulations on visas and health certificates worldwide on the IATA Travel Centre website

We strongly advise you to check the entry regulations and conditions of the country you are traveling to through authorities' official websites or through the websites of diplomatic and consular missions of your country. It is your responsibility to obtain the necessary travel documentation and visas for your trip for yourself and your children and to comply with all the regulations of the countries to, from, or through which you will be traveling.

Passport

The validity of your passport or other relevant travel document should cover your entire trip.

Children and infants should have their own passports or other travel documents. In certain countries specific entry and exit requirements may apply to unaccompanied children or those who are only accompanied by one parent or by someone else.

The governments of some countries require passports to be valid for a certain period after the trip, generally three to six months.

For more details please contact the embassy of the country to which you are traveling or visit the IATA Travel Centre website

Visa

Depending on your citizenship and purpose of travel, you may need visas or other permits for entry into or transit through a certain country.

Find out more about the visa regulations of countries around the world on the IATA Travel Centre website: www.iatatravelcentre.com In case a visa is required for your travel, you can apply directly with the embassy of the country you are traveling to. We advise you visit their official website for accurate visa information.

If you are a Serbian citizen traveling abroad, check the visa regimes worldwide to see whether you need a visa for the country you wish to visit or for transit.

If you wish to visit Serbia or if Serbia is a transit point on your route, check the visa regime for entry into Serbia to see whether you need a visa.

If you receive a visa, make sure that it is valid for the entire duration of your stay. Different countries will have different immigration and customs regulations for animals or cultural assets.

Visa free-entry to the U.S.

ESTA Travel Authorization

Citizens of countries included in the Visa Waiver Program may travel to the U.S. for a period of up to 90 days without requesting a visa. However, they will need to apply for a valid Electronic System Travel Authorization (ESTA) and meet the requirements of the program. Without ESTA authorization, these travelers will not be able to board flights to the United States. It is the responsibility of the airline to verify ESTA travel information.

You must apply online at least 72 hours before departure. This application will be valid for multiple entries during a two-year period provided that your passport does not expire in the meantime. There is a fee of US$14 for ESTA registration. We recommend printing out the entry permit and carrying it with you when traveling.

FAQ's about the Visa Waiver Program

Automated Passport Control (APC)

APC is only available to citizens of the U.S, Canada and the member states of the Visa Waiver Program. This program facilitates visa-free entry to tourists and business travelers who are staying in the U.S. no longer than 90 days (passengers with a visa or Green Card are ineligible for APC).

To use the APC procedure, eligible citizens are required to have a biometric passport, a valid ESTA registration (electronic entry authorization) and a customs declaration completed in digital form and must have traveled to the U.S. at least once since 2008. For citizens of Visa Waiver countries, a fingerprint comparison is also required. U.S. and Canadian passport holders and international visitors from Visa Waiver Program countries can proceed directly to APC counters.

Passport & Visa requirements

To enter the U.S. you must be in possession of a valid biometric passport. The validity of your passport or other relevant travel document should cover your entire trip. For more information on passport requirements please visit the Homeland Security website

Important for Serbian nationals: Only the red, machine-readable, passport applies to Serbia nationals. When planning your holiday, please note that children will also need a red, machine-readable passport to enter the country.

We recommend that you contact the embassy or consulate of your destination country for information about current visa and entry regulations. You will find a list of contact addresses on the website of the US Department of State

At the port of entry, all passengers will have their fingerprints digitally scanned and a digital photograph taken. The Transport Security Administration (TSA) advises airline passengers not to lock their checked baggage so that subsequent manual checks can be carried out. The importation of foodstuffs is subject to strict controls and extensive restrictions.

Data collection and data transfer

Advance Passenger Information (API) Data Collection

All airlines are required to record personal details for their passengers on flights to, from and via the U.S. and to transmit these to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The data will be collected before departure, at the latest when you check-in. To reduce queues at the check-in desks, please send us the required details prior to the departure of your flight.

Advance Passenger Information should be provided before departure by:

  • Entering your data at the time of booking,
  • Contacting your travel agent,
  • Providing your data to our check-in agent at the airport of departure.

If you are connecting to another flight in the United States with final destination out of the United States, when filling in your address you should enter Transit to Non-US territory and provide the flight number of your connecting flight. If you are going on a cruise, please enter Transit to Cruise Line and provide the name of the ship and city on/in which your cruise will start.

TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies or others under its published system of records notice. For more on TSA privacy policies or to review the system of records notice and the privacy impact assessment, please see the TSA Web site at www.tsa.gov
