BEFORE THE FLIGHT
Your journey starts already at home. Use online check-in where available to minimize human contact. Print out or download your boarding pass before arriving at the airport.
For further details please click here.
Please note that in accordance with current provisions, online check-in will be enabled only for passport holders of the destination country (for example, passengers holding Swiss passport will be eligible for online check-in for Belgrade-Zurich flight).
Remember to check your temperature before travelling. It may be checked again at the airport. In case you have higher temperature, you will be asked to return home.
Ensure you have packed protective gloves, mask and hand disinfectant before arriving at the airport.
AT THE AIRPORT
Please arrive at the airport well in advance to complete all required procedures. We recommend to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure. Do everything you can to keep social distancing at the airport. Follow the ground markings and signage to keep required physical distance in queues at check-in, security and at the gate.
Only passengers with valid boarding pass or ticket will be allowed to enter Belgrade Nikola Tesla terminal building. Entry is also permitted to persons escorting disabled passengers and unaccompanied children. Ensure you have your boarding pass or confirmed ticket easily accessible to you in electronic or printed form.
If your journey starts from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport:
- Entrance to the terminal will be only at entrance door number 2
- The use of masks is mandatory
- Gate opening times have been changed. For flights operated by an ATR-72 aircraft, gate will open 70 minutes before take-off. If the flight is operated by an A319/A320 aircraft, the gate opens 95 minutes before while for flights to New York it opens 120 minutes before scheduled departure time.
For certain categories of passengers, there will also be certain special benefits, and all passengers older than 65 will have check-in priority, free-of-charge, while families checking-in for flights will be able to do so using special counters, to make the check-in process quicker and more efficient.
Air Serbia Self Check-in kiosks and Baggage Drop-Off counters will be available for passengers who checked-in online for their flight.
Due to current situation, our boarding procedures have been adapted to better facilitate social distancing. We require you to follow the instructions given by the gate staff. You should only start boarding when your seat zone is called out. We kindly ask you to strictly follow boarding instructions.
To minimize physical contact between passengers boarding will start from the rear part.
As long as there are enough free seats, we will do our best to seat passengers across the cabin, to enable as much distance as possible. If this is not the case, families and groups will be seated together. Please be aware that due to distancing reasons last minute seat changes may occur.
Our crew wear protective face masks and gloves during the entire flight. We kindly remind that wearing the face masks on board our flights is mandatory. Additional protective equipment which would be brought by the passengers (gloves, visors etc.) is permitted and welcomed. In view of the duration of the flight between Belgrade and New York, and in order to ensure efficient health protection, passengers are required to have at least three face masks, since wearing one for more than four hours is not recommended. Please follow this rule until you walk out of the airport at your destination.
All non-essential items such as inflight magazines and brochures have been removed from the seat pocket.Service on all flights will be simplified with a focus on minimal contact. This will include the removal of the inflight magazine and brochures. In the initial period, in line with the recommendations of national medical experts from Institute of Public Health, there will be no catering, instead, only water will be served to prevent frequent removal of masks, and thus reduce the risk of the virus being transmitted. Food will be served on our flights between Belgrade and New York.
We invite you to refrain from using the toilets during the flight as much as possible and use the button on the overhead panel to call the cabin crew in case of need. Queuing for toilets will not be permitted.
Our A319/A320/A330 aircraft are equipped with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters that are capable of capturing up to 99.8% of microbes, like viruses and bacteria, ensuring a high air quality. The air on board is pressed down from the ceiling to the floor. This makes it difficult for droplets to spread, as the air flow makes droplets immediately fall to the floor. On the other hand, when it comes to the ATR aircraft in the Air Serbia fleet, as recommended by manufacturer and in connection with measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, a special procedure was introduced that enables maximum air circulation.
All our aircraft are professionally cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis. We carefully clean all commonly used surfaces such as armrests, backrests, meal tray tables, seatbelt latches, overhead bin handles, galleys and toilets. Cabin disinfections are being performed in accordance with local and international recommendations.
For more details on hand luggage policy please click here.
Once the aircraft has reached its final parking position, please carefully follow the instructions from the cabin crew during disembarkation. Deplaning must take place in an orderly manner, with a proper queue, maintaining an interpersonal distance.
When you land, please keep your face mask on until you have left the airport terminal. Try to maintain social distancing as you pass through the airport and at the baggage belt if you are collecting a bag.
