Air Serbia hits 2 million passengers mark by end of June already
30 June 2025
Today, Air Serbia carried its 2-millionth passenger in 2025. The Serbian national carrier reached this milestone earlier compared to the previous year, when it was reached in July.
“Two million passengers on our flights since the start of the year clearly show that the strategy we devised for 2025 was a good one. The result also confirms that Air Serbia is rightfully considered a leader in the region. As a national carrier, we proudly represent Serbia across the world, as shown by a recent survey conducted by the renowned UK-based specialised portal, Skytrax. We thank our passengers for their trust, and our employees for their hard work and dedication,” said Jiri Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.
Since the start of the year, Air Serbia expanded its network with six new destinations. The national carrier launched for the first time direct services to Shanghai, Mykonos, Alghero and Tbilisi, while Florence and Geneva were resumed after a hiatus. The fleet was reinforced with two new aircraft, wide-body Airbus A330-200 and narrow-body Embraer E195. Also, with the goal of boosting the quality of passenger experience at Belgrade Airport, Premium check-in counters were opened for Air Serbia’s business class passengers.
In addition to various operational activities, Air Serbia showed commitment in the sphere of social responsibility since the start of the year as well. In the first half of the year, male and female uniforms from the previous collection of the cabin and flight crews were donated to the Sremčica Institution for Children and Youths and the Dressed for Success organisation. From Niš to Belgrade, on an Air Serbia aircraft, children from socially vulnerable families flew for the first time in their lives, as part of the Strengthening Families project conducted by the SOS Children’s Villages Serbia. In partnership with the Srbijašume public company, oak and ash trees were planted in the Košutnjak park, with which Air Serbia contributed to protecting and improving the environment of the community it operates in.
